Men's first team manager reflects on the narrow victory against league strugglers Billingshurst

Saturday saw us travel to The Shooting Fields at Steyning FC to play Billingshurst FC, in what could of been a very tricky game and it proved exactly that! Despite creating 4 or 5 good chances we never killed the game off and we nearly paid for a lack of composure in front of goal. On top of that, missing a penalty for the second week running didn't help our cause either.

To their credit, Billingshurst never gave up and kept going to the end and we had to make sure after our 3rd goal went in to make it 3-2, we tightened everything up and saw out the remaining 15 minutes without conceding an equaliser.

Our goals on the day came from Ollie Humphries x2 and a Bradley Higgins-Pearce strike made sure of the 3 points and a result to maintain our league position and keeping us near the play off places.

After last week's disappointment of losing to Roffey, Saturday was good to see the lads keep doing the right things and trusting in the process of what and how we like things to be done. They work hard in training and deserve the credit for the win on Saturday.

With the games coming thick and fast after the recent weeks of torrential rain, we see Worthing United visit us on Tuesday night ko 7.45pm our first home since the end of January!
