Saturday we hosted Chessington and Hook fc after our midweek cup win at near neighbours Pagham. Tuesday was a good team performance all round and we were good in both 18-yard boxes, defending well when needed and taking chances when we created them although in real truth the game should of been done and buried by half time. We do need to be ruthless when these chances arrive and be more consistent at this.
Saturday was the complete opposite, not taking chances and giving our visitors chances when we should be dealing with things better. Although we did take the lead early from a Sam Conolly penalty after James Henton was fouled in the area. After this though we didn't take the advantage this gave us and it wasn't long before our visitors levelled and then added a second and third before half time and then another after the break condemning us to our first home league defeat 1-4.
This isn't a good result for us and a performance we do not want to see again in the future. Although our visitors were a good side we didn't do anywhere near enough on the day to make a proper game of it.
Now our attention turns quickly to Haywards Heath in the FA Vase on Saturday, a game which sees us again taking on a team at the next level above us in the pyramid. We don't have too much time to dwell on things and we need to get the group back in prepare right and get them ready for Saturdays game.
The game on Saturday is away at Haywards Heath, ko 3pm
